Dr. Oleksandr Tkach

Dr. Oleksandr Tkach is a Principal Researcher of the University of Aveiro and CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials, Portugal. He graduated in Microelectronics and Semiconductor Devices by the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” in 1999. In 2005 he got Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Aveiro, Portugal. His post-doc activity was performed in the University of Porto (2007-2012) and Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (2012-2014) with further return to the University of Aveiro as Auxiliary Researcher. Since then, Dr. Tkach has (co-)supervised 9 Master students and 3 post-docs; given 17 invited or keynote talks; was an organizing or scientific committee member of 8 events; joined Editorial boards of 5 scientific journals, also reviewing manuscripts for >60 journals. His publication profile contains 1 edited book, 8 book chapters and 115 articles. Dr. Tkach has participated in 3 European, 8 Portuguese R&D and 2 projects with industry as well as 2 bilateral projects. Present research interests of Dr. Tkach include the development of giant permittivity dielectric oxides for energy storage; thermoelectric and piezoelectric oxide materials and composites for energy harvesting technologies; nanostructured magnetoelectrics for sensor and electronic applications; and alternative energy efficient concepts for electrically assisted ceramic sintering.
